A total of 3,758 registered catastrophic events affected the Indonesian territory from January 1 to December 26, 2019.
According to data from the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB), of this number, 1,363 were natural disasters due to tornadoes, 764 floods, 746 forest fires and rains, 708 landslides, 123 natural disasters were treated by drought, 29 uncategorized natural disasters, 18 tsunamis and abrasion, and 7 volcanic eruptions.

Meanwhile, for the deaths caused by natural disasters during 2019, there were 478 deaths, 109 missing persons, 3,419 injured and 6.1 million people were forced to flee.
While the number of material losses due to natural disasters included 73,305 homes and 2,015 public facilities that were damaged.
