Are you a lover of bakso and mie (Indonesian meatballs and noodle)? There are good news! The "Discovery" shopping center in the city of Kuta, on the island of Bali, Indonesia, it celebrating its Bakso Loves Mie Festival, the first and largest festival of meatballs and noodles in Bali.
This culinary festival will have place, during 13 days, at the Segara Roof Discovery Shopping Mall Kuta, in Bali, from April 19 to May 1, 2019, to present the culinary diversity of the archipelago, specifically with regard to the meatballs (bakso) and the noodles (mie).
According to the general manager of the Discovery shopping center, Gustaf Riandory, the event was attended by more than 30 UMKM (support for microenterprises) culinary businesses from Bali and several regions of Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Bandung, Bogor, Surabaya, Semarang Solo and Jogja.
This highlights the commitment of shopping centers with the government to open commercial spaces to support the development of UMKM proyects.
"At the Bakso Loves Mie Festival, we offer to producers the opportunity to sell their products at the mall, to introduce their brands to a market dominated by foreign tourists," Riandory added.

The bakso (meatballs) and the mie (noodle) are the favorite culinary specialties and are very varied. In this event, visitors can enjoy a wide selection of meatballs and noodles such as Boedjangan Meatballs, Bone Marrow Meatballs, Fried Meatballs, Elephant Fried Meatballs, Lamb Meatballs, Bakmi Hauce, Mie Ayam Betutu Noodle, Mie Kocok, Mie Ruwet, etc., from more than 30 places across the country.
Besides, the festival also presented several promotions offered by the sponsors for free, such as Sosro bottled tea, mineral water, Radler stars and 300 servings of noodles.
"Bakso Loves Mie Festival" is the third annual culinary event that takes place at the Discovery Shopping Mall, Kuta, after the "Indonesia Discovery" food festival that is held every July and the "Discovery Foodlicious" party which is celebrated every December.
It is hoped that this culinary festival can make known the culinary diversity of Indonesia, to be loved and better known worldwide.
