An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 shook the southern region of Halmahera, province of North Maluku, on Saturday, September 14, 2019 around 11:21 p.m., West Indonesia time.
According to information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the location of the earthquake was at coordinates 0.89 latitude, 128.60 east longitude, 119 km northeast of Halmahera South.
The epicenter was at a depth of 10 km and had no tsunami potential. The earthquake tremor (MMI) was felt by V North West Gane, V Outer Gane, V South East Gane, V Kukupang, III Labuha, III Maba, III Middle East Bacan, III Weda.
Until this news was revealed, there was no information related to the number of victims and the damage caused by the earthquake.
