An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 shook eastern Indonesia in the early hours of Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 02:53:11, local time.

According to information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the epicenter was at sea, at a depth of 11 KM, at coordinates 6.66 latitude, 130.60 east longitude, about 165 km northwest of Maluku, southeast of Maluku, province of Maluku.

The earthquake was felt by I - II MMI in Saumlaki and had no tsunami potential.

Until the publication of this news, there was no information about the number of victims or losses caused by the earthquake.

Meanwhile, the BMKG urges people who live or are near the earthquake site, to be aware of the possibility of aftershocks.
